The photo shoot in Noordwijk

For the new online shop, Bohemida organised its own photo shoot on the beach in Noordwijk. About real photography and why it matters so much for handmade products.

For the new online shop I wanted new images. Photos that show how a beach towel drapes, what the straw of a bag looks like in the sunlight and how the colours come together. That is why Bohemida went to the beach in Noordwijk with photographer @tienZfotografie and models.

Dunes, beach and sea

Noordwijk had everything that suits the collection. In the dunes the XXL beach towels hung over a wooden fence, on the beach and in the sea the straw bags were carried, and at the end of the day the setting sun gave the colours a warm glow.

Why real photography

More and more often you see images online that were made with AI. With handmade products it is all about what you cannot make up: the texture of the straw, the embroidery, the true colour of a mandala. Anyone who orders a beach towel or bag wants to know what will be delivered at home.

That is why Bohemida deliberately invests in its own product photography. In the photos you see the real products, in a real location, without anything made up about the colours or the material.

Handmade shows in the details

Every beach towel and every bag is made by hand. Those are exactly the details I wanted to capture as honestly as possible: the weave of the straw, the leather handles, the colour gradient of an ombre beach towel. That way you can already see online what makes a product special.
